Vegetable Pulao
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup basmati rice
- 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans), chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp ghee or oil
- Salt, to taste
Method
- Wash the rice thoroughly under cold water and soak for 15 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pot, add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
- Add chopped vegetables and sauté for a few minutes.
- Drain the rice and add it to the pot along with turmeric, garam masala, and salt.
- Add 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Cook until rice is fluffy and water is absorbed.
