Lentil and Spinach Dal
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup yellow lentils (moong dal)
- 1 cup spinach, washed and chopped
- 1 small tomato, chopped
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ghee or oil
- Salt, to taste
Method
- Wash the lentils thoroughly and cook with turmeric and 1 cup water until soft.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until golden.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add the cooked lentils and chopped spinach, simmer for 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt.
