Chole (Chickpea Curry)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas (use canned or pre-soaked overnight and boiled)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small tomato, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp chole masala
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pot, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until raw smell disappears.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, chole masala, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add boiled chickpeas, mix well, and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with rice or roti.
